Viitaniemi Quarry

The Viitaniemi Quarry is an open pit in Eräjärvi, where a large lithium-containing feldspar was mined in 1935–1965. Gemstones, such as tourmaline, are still being mined in the mine’s waste piles. Mecca for many stone enthusiasts.
