Apply for the production incentive by contacting niina.virtanen@businesstampere.com.

You can submit an application when at least 50 % of the production’s financing is secured, there is a professional distribution agreement, and discretionary conditions are reasonably met.

After submission, Film Tampere and the City of Tampere process the application together and should the project be supported, a production incentive agreement will be signed between the applicant company and the city of Tampere.

The incentive is paid to the account specified in the application after submitting a cost breakdown and auditor’s report of expenses incurred in Tampere. Payment is made within 14 days of report approval.

Additional Incentive Instructions 2024

The City of Tampere offers an additional incentive for productions filming a significant portion of Tampere. This can be 2.5 % or 5 % of approved costs and is applied alongside the AV production incentive. To qualify, productions must meet certain criteria, including marketing efforts to promote Tampere.

Finland’s 25 % Production Incentive

In addition to Tampere’s regional incentive, you can apply for Finland’s 25 % production incentive managed by Business Finland, which allows a total incentive of up to 40 % for production. Film Tampere does not have minimum requirements for budget or expenditure but should the applicant also apply for Business Finland’s fund, take into consideration the minimum requirements of Business Finland (below).
